HCA Developments Ltd is a property development company whose aim is to provide much needed commercial office accommodation to local businesses in the rural Staffordshire Moorlands. The company was founded in 2014 by Natalie Hewitt and Mark Carr, two colleagues, who between them have over 34 years’ experience in the architectural industry.
Having successfully purchased and renovated, in 2014, a Grade II listed former building society in the heart of Cheadle High Street, HCA Developments is now building its portfolio of business properties. The latest edition to this portfolio being the former Daisy Bank Nursing Home now DaisyBank House Business Centre.
DaisyBank is a Grade II listed building. Little Daisy Bank, the smaller house, is the oldest part of the property, dating back to the mid-18th century. The 12 pane sash windows, radial fanlight and classical stone pediment on the front elevation date the larger property to the 19th Century. The modern extension to the rear of the property was added in the 20th Century and the whole building has now been the subject of a sympathetic conversion.
The house was used as a medical practice and occupied by several surgeons, initially the Bourne family, then the Mackenzie family until 1939 when Dr John Kirkwood and finally the Davies family used it as a private residence. It was then converted into a care home in 1989 and provided care for the elderly until it was closed and put up for sale in 2015.
